PNA is South Africa’s favourite stationery, arts and crafts materials and book retailer with 70 successful independent, owner-managed stores located nationwide.

 

Challenge

What does Suzelle DIY, arts and crafts, marketing and takkies have in common? We were tasked to make the collaboration between PNA and DIY queen, Suzelle DIY, come alive by getting the word out about their super competition on all social media platforms.

 

Execution

We had creativity on our side with this campaign. PNA and Suzelle DIY hosted the “Whacky your Takkie” competition where fans were tasked to decorate their own pair of takkies using stationery bought at PNA, snap a picture and submit their entries.

Suzelle DIY made a side-splitting video showing people how to decorate their own takkies with PNA products. Winners of the competition won a pair of Suzelle DIY’s Wacky Takkies as seen in her video.

Our team set about spreading the word on social media to get entries for the contest by way of a clever lead page, enticing posts, whacky artwork and ads fit to catch the attention of even the most off-the-grid crafters.

Interest completely blew up once we started marketing Suzelle DIY’s Wacky your Takkie video. The video generated:

Entries for the competition streamed in and hundreds of entrants flocked to PNA stores across the nation to get their art supplies.
